Doctor Control

FACTS TO PONDER:

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000

(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year
are 120,000

(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human
Services.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Now think about this:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is
80,000,000.

(Yes, that's 80 million..)

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all
age groups, is

1,500.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is

.000188

Statistics courtesy of the FBI

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So, statistically, doctors are approximately

9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,

BUT

ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We
must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Out of concern for the public at large, we have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical
attention!

that's a good one! Just goes to show that simple solutions (banning guns) are not the answer to complex problems (gun violence) A more common sense approach is to turn public opinion (not simple and is costly but I would think more effective) against violence in entertainment media that influences inner city deaths that get the media into a frenzy.

No offence, but this is a retarded comparison.

Why don't you compare deliberate deaths caused by physicians and deliberate deaths caused by guns?

If you're going to make comparisons, at least make it apples/apples, not apples/kumquats.

leo, if you think that entertainment violence influences inner cities, then you should move into the inner cities. Poverty, and the desire for a quick buck (drugs and other crimes) influence inner city violence.

anonymous,

I do not deny that poverty et.al are influences on violence. The problem is that the quick buck entertainment industry (music, movies and video games) influences the ethical development of young people and gives creedance to violence as a viable option. These factors are a toxic mix that poison the intercity, really all of the world.

Anonymous said that my comparison was retarded. I take offence to this offensive use of the word retarded. I would rather be characterized as mentally challenged. Besides...someone is taking the posting too serioulsly...please..it is humor. Comparing apples to apples is not funny. Now comparing an apple to a kumquat is funny and silly.

However, I would like to point out that a study was conducted on the comparison of apples and oranges. The method of study was comparing apples and oranges using a Forier Transform Infrared spectrometer and the results clearly show that comparing apples with oranges is valid. I cannot speak to kumquats without further investigation, but I suspect that it is equally comparable, ergo, my comparison is also valid.

Here is a reference to that study:
